Our Commitment to Kindness and Respect: Anti-Bullying Week 2024
This Anti-Bullying Week, we are spreading positivity, kindness, respect, and our shared commitment to making our school a place where everyone feels safe and supported. As a symbol of our dedication to these values, we’re hiding 50 chocolate bars around the school every day this week, giving our students a chance to experience small acts of kindness and discover a treat to brighten their day.
Each one of our students will also receive a special postcard, with a thoughtful message of kindness and respect. These postcards can be shared with someone who may need a little boost, helping us spread positivity throughout our school community.
We’re also incredibly proud that we’ve been awarded the Beyond Bullying Gold Award for 2024-2027, making us the only secondary school in Leicestershire to receive this. This achievement reflects our ongoing commitment to tackling bullying and creating a culture of respect. Together, we recently strengthened our anti-bullying policy to better reflect the needs of our school community.
Our Year 10 Mentors in Violence Prevention are making an enormous difference too. They’ve developed and led programs for Year 7 students, encouraging them to be upstanders and showing the importance of supporting each other.
We also continue to support our students with “STOP boxes” and a dedicated “STOP” email address, which are checked daily to ensure that anyone needing support or a listening ear has a safe, confidential way to reach out.
At Humphrey Perkins, we’re passionate about creating a bully-free environment where everyone is treated with kindness and respect. Watch our video below to find out more!
