Cameron McFarlane

Former Humphrey Perkins student Cameron is now an Assistant Producer and Filmmaker, travelling the world to work on international film projects.

Cameron’s time at Humphrey Perkins helped shape both his academic interests and future career. His favourite subjects — Geography and History — have remained central throughout his journey, from education to his current role in the film and media industry.

“My time at the school was academically and personally enriching,” Cameron reflects. “I was taught by some great people who managed to get the best out of myself and my classmates.”

After leaving Humphrey Perkins, Cameron studied A-Levels in Geography, History, and Psychology at Wyggeston & Queen Elizabeth I College. He then went on to complete a BA (Hons) in Geography at Portsmouth University, followed by an MA in Journalism and Documentary Practice at the University of Sussex.

Today, Cameron works as an Assistant Producer and Filmmaker at Superlative, a company specialising in media, TV, and film. His role is closely tied to the World Rally Championship, meaning his work takes him far beyond the studio. Cameron has travelled to some incredible locations, including Sweden, Kenya, Gran Canaria, Portugal, and Monaco!

Each week brings something new — from managing camera equipment and preparing travel documents to contributing creative ideas for edits. When not travelling, Cameron works from the office, helping ensure the team is ready for each international shoot.
