Jeffrey Wheble
From Humphrey Perkins to a Career in Law EnforcementFor Jeffrey Wheble, his time at Humphrey Perkins School from 1979 to 1982 laid the groundwork for a remarkable career. Inspired by his love for History, English, and Humanities, Jeffrey attributes his future success to the dedicated and inspirational teachers he encountered at the school, particularly Mr. Wheeler, his English teacher.
"My education at Humphrey Perkins, guided by incredible teachers, gave me a lifelong love of the written and spoken word," Jeffrey reflects. This passion not only shaped his career but also influenced his family. His 24-year-old daughter, now an English graduate, shares the same appreciation for language and learning that Jeffrey first discovered at school.
After leaving Humphrey Perkins, Jeffrey embarked on a varied career journey, working in banking, retail, and local government before joining Thames Valley Police. Over his 26 years of service, Jeffrey rose to the rank of detective, specialising in investigative roles and earning accreditation via the National Investigators Exam.
Although he retired in 2020, Jeffrey returned to policing as a Designated Investigator, where he contributes to critical casework. His role includes preparing warrants, interviewing suspects, and compiling evidence for prosecution decisions. While his work is both challenging and impactful, Jeffrey looks forward to enjoying retirement in the near future.
As a proud Humphrey Perkins alumnus, Jeffrey credits the strong educational foundation and values instilled during his time at the school with shaping his life and career.
