Students Star at Lionheart Sports Day
A group of Year 9 and 10 students from Humphrey Perkins headed to Knighton Tennis Centre for Lionheart’s Sports Performance and Careers Day.The event brought together students from across the Trust for a day of hands-on sport and career insight. Our students took part in four different sessions, including boxing, cricket, pickleball and a careers talk with former professional footballer Andy Morrell. Each activity offered something new, and it was great to see our students giving everything a go.
Pickleball was a surprise hit, with students quickly picking up the rules and getting competitive. The cricket session gave them a chance to work as a team, while boxing pushed them to stay focused and keep moving. Andy’s talk was honest and engaging, giving students a real look at the world of sport — both on and off the pitch.
Throughout the day, our students showed great attitude, supported each other and represented Humphrey Perkins with pride. It was a brilliant chance to try something different, meet students from other schools and think about future possibilities.
Thanks to Lionheart for organising such a well-run and enjoyable event.
