Trip to Paris

Last month, 48 students in Year 10 and Year 11 visited Paris for a four-night residential trip organised by the modern foreign languages department. Our first overseas trip since the start of the pandemic.

Students spent a full day at Disneyland Paris, enjoying the attractions, rides and parades followed by a spectacular light and firework show in the evening. On day 2 we took in our beautiful surroundings and uncovered the historic heart of the city on a Bateaux Mouches boat cruise along the river Seine.

We explored our cultural surroundings and visited the iconic sights of Paris including the Lourve, Champs Elysées, Arc de Triomphe and the view of the Eiffel Tower from the top of Tour Montparnasse.

A highlight for many of our students was the spontaneous evening detour to see the illuminated Eiffel Tower when it sparkles for 5 minutes every hour. Excitement levels were high the students took pictures and videos before heading back to the hotel.

Throughout the trip students were able to practice their French language skills by ordering their own food and listening to the news headlines on the TV in the hotel.

We are extremely proud of all our students who represented Humphrey Perkins and embraced every opportunity during their trip to Paris.
